Does Black Swan appear on our lists?

Does Black Swan appear on our lists?

In this episode Alex and Raz give to the world their top 5 movies of the past year. Which movie does Alex gush about for over 3 minutes? How often will we mention Scott Pilgrim? And, most importantly, how does Carmelo Anthony fit into it all?

I know in the past I gave Alex permission to always say that Raz is wrong…but that permission is revoked. Raz now has permission to say that Alex is wrong. Inception as the 18th (or so?) best film of the year? Really? Neither of you talked about the best film of the year (Fish Tank) so as Inception was the second best film of the year, you both had it too low. Yeah, it had some awesome action (I don’t even remember Scott Pilgrim having interesting action scenes). Only Kick-Ass and The Good The Bad The Weird came close to Inception for action scene quality, and I’m not just talking about the hallway. Yeah, Inception also had a good central dynamic between Cobb and his wife, but the thing people constantly seem to underrate is how awesome Inception’s dual commentary on the mind and on movies is. It is a film that has a better grasp on human psychology than most.

Anyway, rounding out my top 10 are:
    3. Winter’s Bone
    4. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
    5. My Name Is Khan
    6. The Social Network
    7. Prodigal Sons
    8. Brotherhood
    9. The King’s Speech
    10. Animal Kingdom

Good to have you guys back.

Bondo sufficiently covered your shameful neglect of Inception, so the only thing I’ve got to add is THE BEST moment of the episode.
I’ll admit that I know nothing about Showtime dramas (and I’m happy with that), but I am familiar with the fact that they have a series called “The L Word” about lesbians and another called “The Big C” about a woman with cancer.

It’s fascinating to imagine the series Alex mentions ( “The C Word” ) and what it would be about.

#18 is much too high for Inception. It’s tripe. Pure, unmitigated tripe. I’d rather watch Scott Pilgrim a trillion times before I put myself through Inception even once. That’s right, a trillion times. It’s a big number, and that’s what I’m willing to go through before seeing Inception ever again. Hyperbole!

You’ll be happy to know that by now it’s down to number 20!
